Centryll Scott joined the Monroe University - Bronx men's volleyball program as an assistant coach in January of 2026. Scott brings over a decade of coaching experience across a variety of levels.
Prior to the Express, Scott served as assistant coach for the Fashion Institute of Technology women's volleyball team during the 2025 season. It was a successful year as Scott helped the Tigers earn a berth in the Region 15 Semifinal/North Atlantic B District Championship match. FIT went 19-2 overall ( an eight-win increase compared to the previous year)Â and 14-1 in regional play. He mentored three student-athletes who were named to the All-Region team, including Region 15 Setter of the Year and NJCAA All-American Juun Shin.Â
In 2019, he led the Teaneck High School boys teams to an impressive 19-4 record — the program’s best season since he competed there as a player. That year, Teaneck went undefeated in league play and earned its first-ever league championship. In 2022, he guided the same program to a 14–8 record and a program first ever advancement to the semifinals of the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 1 Tournament.
Scott is very successful in developing his athletes. He has played an active role in helping student-athletes pursue collegiate opportunities, with several earning offers from NCAA Division II and III programs.
A 2013 graduate of Teaneck High School, Scott was a standout athlete, earning All-League first team and All-County first team honors in the Freedom Division. He continued his volleyball career at Penn State University, where he competed with the men’s club volleyball team and contributed to top national finishes — placing fifth and eighth at the National Collegiate Club Volleyball Championship Tournament during his collegiate career.
Scott earned his bachelor's degree in physics with a minor in mathematics from Montclair State University.Â
